FAQs
Both are CE Class A urban riding trousers at a similar price point, but with different material philosophy. The Acteon uses stretch polycotton twill with Ripstop reinforcements — a technical fabric that offers higher abrasion resistance and better temperature management in warm weather. The Copper V3 uses stretch cotton denim with aramid fibre reinforcement — a standard jeans aesthetic that is genuinely indistinguishable from regular denim off the bike. Choose Acteon for technical warm-weather riding; choose Copper V3 for an urban aesthetic that transitions seamlessly between riding and daily life.
Ripstop is a weaving technique that incorporates a reinforcement grid pattern into the base fabric — typically nylon or polyester threads woven at regular intervals. The grid prevents small tears or perforations from propagating across the fabric: if the textile contacts the road surface in a slide, any initial damage is contained within the grid squares rather than running the full length of the garment. In the Acteon, Ripstop panels are applied in the areas with highest contact probability in a slide.
The Acteon Pants include Nucleon Flex Plus Level 1 knee protectors. No hip protector is included as standard. For urban riding pants with included hip protection, the Troop-Air Pro Pants include Nucleon Bio-Flex Level 1 hip armor, and the Copper V3 Denim includes a hip pocket compatible with optional Alpinestars hip protectors.
